The phrase ‘Nocturne’ might make you think of Chopin’s soft classical piano works, but Gilmore Trail have put their own spin on the evocative style. Nocturnes typically draw inspiration from the night-time and the feelings it creates, and alongside the gentle visualiser that comes with the track, the band have hit the nail on the head. Rather than the expected piano, they put clean guitars at the forefront, with multiple layers of melody and arpeggio interacting above a slow, peaceful string accompaniment.
